Dôndi: a welcoming, celebrating church

When NetACT called on the Dôndi seminary in the Huambo Province of Angola, about 600 singing members lined the sides of the road and welcomed villagers and visitors arriving from the Cachiungo village. The three hour church service was characterized by eight choirs and the whole congregation of more than 1 100 people taking part in the offering by singing and dancing to bring their offerings to the altar next to the pulpit.

A representative of NetACT delivered the sermon from Luke 2:14 “Peace on earth – the angels sang.” Half an hour into the sermon, the preacher wanted to conclude, but the whole congregation objected and asked him to continue! He then continued to bring the message, about Jesus bringing peace, for another 15 minutes.
